Newmarket viaduct in 3D

3D capturing and modelling

Capturing and modelling reality in 3D is part and parcel of an Envivo Surveyor’s day to day workload. We also use these skill sets to unravel the complexities of 3D legal boundaries and represent them as a 3D digital model. In 2013 Envivo undertook arguably the most complex 3D titling survey in New Zealand for the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA), this involved creating parcels under and around the Newmarket viaduct and included sloping dipping strata boundaries, Sections, Easements and the existing Mercury Tunnel Easements. These where all defined on 2D plan sets (as required by Land Information New Zealand), lodged and approved. Today the challenge for potential land owners is to make sense of the plans and to understand what the development potential of these sites might be. Applying our advanced 3D skill sets Envivo Surveyors have produced survey accurate 3D digital models of the strata sections, we have cleared away the spatial confusion to allow developers to move forward with certainty.
